Privacy Policy — Bulk Image Downloader (Extension)

Effective date: February 27, 2026

This page explains what data the extension may access and how it is used. The extension is built to perform downloads locally in your browser.

What the extension accesses

  • Active tab — to collect image URLs from the current page when you ask for it. Collection happens locally in your browser.
  • Downloads API — to save images into your system's Downloads folder (or a subfolder created by the extension).
  • Storage — for minimal preferences (UI settings, last folder name). No personal data is stored by default.

Data collection & retention

The extension does not transmit or store your downloaded images on our servers by default. All downloads are performed locally. We do not retain image files or browsing data on the server.

Permissions explained

  • activeTab — inspect the open page to collect image links when requested.
  • downloads — save files locally.
  • storage — small settings only.
  • scripting/content_scripts — used to collect images from pages when you request it.

When the extension contacts our server

By default, the extension operates fully locally. If a feature explicitly sends data to our website, it will be clearly labeled and you will be shown what is sent.

Security

We maintain the extension code and rely on the browser's download subsystem. Be cautious when downloading files from untrusted sources and keep your system security software up-to-date.

Your choices

  • Remove or disable the extension at any time from your browser's extensions page.
  • Avoid using the extension on untrusted pages or URLs.

Children

The extension is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
